9th International Conference on Movement, Health & Exercise  2023

The 9th International Conference on Movement, Health, and Exercise (MoHE 2023) took place from October 17 to 19 at the Promenade Hotel, Sabah, under the theme "Synergizing Sport Through Technology and Digitalization." The conference aimed to facilitate discussions and the exchange of ideas and expertise among local and international researchers, particularly from the Southeast Asian region, in the fields of exercise science, sports science, and related health and sports technology disciplines. This initiative aligns with the goal of promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing high-performance sports through innovative scientific approaches.

The conference was jointly organized by the Health through Exercise & Active Living (HEAL) Research Unit of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), in collaboration with the Malaysian Journal of Movement, Health and Exercise. The event received support from the Sport Section, Policy Planning, and Research Division of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, as well as the Sabah Sports Council under the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

International SO FIT 5 Virtual Home Fitness 2021

This virtual fitness program is a collaborative effort with Special Olympics Malaysia (SOM) scheduled to run every Saturday since it was launched on 14th August 2021 and will continue until the end of the year. The objectives of this virtual program include creating awareness of the importance of fitness and providing accessibility for the ID community to be physically active while encouraging more people to join as volunteers for community empowerment. The Virtual Home Fitness 2021 covered the FIT 5 Exercise from Level 1 to Level 5, in which SO athletes would learn basic technique of movements in the main four exercise components (endurance, strength, flexibility and balance) with gradual increment in the difficulty and intensity across all five levels. 

Cardio Pulmonary Resusitation (CPR) Course

The goal of this program is to provide opportunities, guidance, experience and recognition to those interested in participating in this program. especially for the students of sport science because this program is very suitable with their field, thus it can help them create a career opportunities in the future.

Personal Trainer Course

The course objective was to produce more certified private trainer, capable and experienced in order to help the needy as well as bring awareness to these people about the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

RFC Stroke Rehabilitation 

The program is focus on rehabilitation program for stroke patients,  it is an important part of recovery after stroke. The goal of a stroke rehabilitation program is to help patients relearn skills they lost when stroke affected part of their brain.

Rehabilitation day is on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
